Vibrating screening machine for silica

Vibrating screening machine for silica is a vibration grading equipment specially designed for the characteristics of silica materials. Its core function is to achieve precise particle size separation of silica particles through mechanical vibration. Silica is a mineral with abundant reserves in the earth's crust. Its core component is silicon dioxide, which has the physical properties of Mohs hardness 7 and density 2.65g/cm³. Natural silica often presents a polycrystalline structure, and the particle size distribution span can extend from micron level to tens of millimeters. The design principle and structural characteristics of this equipment are based on the physical properties of silica, which can meet the needs of particle size separation from micron level to tens of millimeters, and provide a stable particle size control solution for the silica processing industry chain.

Working principle of Vibrating screening machine for silica

Vibration generation and transmission: The equipment drives the eccentric shaft or vibrator through a motor to generate periodic excitation force. Considering the high hardness (Mohs 7) and density (2.65g/cm³) of silica, the equipment needs to have sufficient excitation force to overcome the inertia of particles. This force is transmitted to the screen box through a spring or rubber vibration damping device, causing the screen surface to produce a composite vibration of a straight line, a circular or an elliptical trajectory, ensuring that the silica particles are fully dispersed on the screen surface.

Particle movement characteristics: Silica particles show a jumping motion on the screen surface. Due to the low friction coefficient between silica particles, the equipment needs to optimize the particle movement trajectory by adjusting the screen surface inclination (usually 5°-15°), vibration frequency (15Hz-30Hz) and amplitude (2mm-6mm). Experiments show that when the ratio of the screen hole size to the silica particle size is greater than 1.2, the screening efficiency is significantly improved, and this ratio is particularly important in silica screening.

Grading dynamics: The probability of silica particles passing through the screen follows the probability screening theory. In view of the polycrystalline structure of silica, the equipment needs to adjust the vibration parameters so that silica particles of different particle sizes form layers on the screen surface. Finer particles fall through the screen holes, while coarser particles are retained on the screen surface.

Structural features of Vibrating screening machine for silica

Screen box system: The main frame is welded with high-strength Q235B carbon structural steel, and reinforcing ribs are added to key parts to ensure the structural stability of the equipment under high-frequency vibration. The screen box is connected to the base through a spring group to form an elastic support system, which effectively isolates the vibration transmission to the foundation and reduces the vibration impact of the equipment on the surrounding environment.

Screen surface assembly: The screen material is selected according to the silica particle size. The coarse screen section uses a 65Mn steel plate punching screen with excellent wear resistance, with an aperture range of 10mm-50mm to withstand the impact of silica particles; the fine screen section uses polyurethane or stainless steel wire woven mesh, with an aperture range of 0.5mm-8mm to ensure screening accuracy. The screen surface inclination can be adjusted in the range of 5°-15° through an adjustable support to adapt to the screening requirements of silica of different particle sizes.

Vibration device: The drive unit includes two forms: a vibration motor or an exciter. The vibration motor generates linear exciting force through the reverse rotation of the dual motors, which is suitable for small and medium-sized equipment; the vibrator is driven by a single motor through a belt drive, which is more suitable for large screening machines. The vibration parameters are adjusted steplessly through the frequency converter to match the fluidity and screening requirements of the silica material.

Functions and uses of Vibrating screening machine for silica

Raw material pretreatment: In the post-silica crushing stage, the vibrating screening machine classifies the silica of mixed particle size into coarse crushing products, medium crushing products and fine crushing products. This step provides raw materials with suitable particle size for the subsequent grinding process to ensure grinding efficiency and product quality.

Product classification: In the production of quartz sand, the equipment classifies the silica raw materials into different particle size specifications, such as 0.1mm-0.5mm, 0.5mm-1.0mm, etc. through multi-stage screening. These standardized quartz sand products are widely used in glass, ceramics and other industries to meet their strict requirements for quartz sand particle size.

Impurity removal: Using the density difference between silica and impurity minerals, the vibrating screening machine combined with air separation or water washing process can effectively remove heavy mineral impurities in silica and improve product purity. This step is of great significance to increasing the added value of silica products.

Process control: In the deep processing of silica, the vibrating screening machine is used as an online detection device to monitor the particle size distribution in the production process in real time. By adjusting the process parameters in time, the stability and consistency of product quality are ensured.

In industrial applications, silica needs to be strictly screened to meet the particle size requirements in glass manufacturing, metallurgical auxiliary materials, building materials and other fields.
